1930's classroom posters

School in the 1930s looked a lot different from what we see today. Elementary school was often a one-room building, and often contained multiple grades, or years, in the classroom at once. High Schools weren't quite as different than what they are now in larger cities, and they still had events like Dances and Proms.

You can find historical photos of students in classrooms learning, and I found an interesting one where the class was learning how to use scissors properly, thus the inspiration for the first poster.

The second and third posters were inspired by real archives of posters found in High Schools in the 1930s. The quirky text placement and spacing all make these relics a real charm to look at and an inspiration to design.
